In the same way a car needs to go through an MOT, an electrical item requires a PAT test once a year.
Apart from peace of mind knowing that equipment has been tested and deemed safe. More and more venues now require the use of disco equipment to be PAT tested. If you cannot do the job as you do not have a certificate of PAT testing, then it will go to your competitor who is. If your equipment causes an accident or fire and it has not been tested, you may also have invalidated your insurance and be liable for any damage.
